Our Story - Our Faith - Our Style
Welcome to Living 511! We are so glad you are here. Just a little about us. Charles and I have been married for 18 years. We share love for historical homes, antiques, and most of all each other. Oh, we love coffee too! In our free time, we enjoy scouring antique stores and flea markets searching for items for our home.
Our faith and family are very important to us and has provided us with the firm foundation that we need in our lives today. Growing up in small rural towns (Williamston, NC and Man, WV), we appreciate simple living and we strive to bring simplicity into our home and our designs.
We believe that every home should have a story. Our design principle consists of blending the old with the new and incorporating pieces that is a reflection of us and our family. We are passionate about restoring forgotten and discarded items and using them into our design plans. .
Our faith is the foundation of who we are. We believe in God and salvation through his son Jesus Christ. We strive to live our lives according to God's word by loving and serving others. Our desire is to encourage others and to fulfill the purpose in which we are called. God has extended us grace and mercy in our imperfections and He continues to mold us into his likeness each day. While you are here at Living 511, we want to share our lives, our home, our faith and our testimony with you but most of all we want to share the love of God and his son Jesus.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son so whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Love and Prayers,
Charles and Renee
It has taken me years to define our home's style. After much trial and error, I discovered a style that works for us and how we live. I prefer decorating with a neutral pallet and adding subtle hints of color with pillows, throws and rugs. I love the warmth and texture wood adds to a space.
My favorite phrase to keep in mind when adding accessories is "less is more". I love simplicity and follow the rule of 3 when adding the finishing touches to a space. I prefer shopping for my accessories at thrift stores and flea markets. We love adding antique and custom furniture pieces to our home for some character and charm. I have learned through the design process to only use what you love when decorating your home. If you don't love it in the store, you are not going to love it at home. Use only the things you love and what you have. Finally, the most beautiful thing in any home is you.
